Guess Who’s Back: The We-Wu for June 9-13, 2025

Yes, it’s true. You can all rest easy now. I have returned.

This will by no means be a comprehensive post about my trip. That will no doubt be coming (possibly in multiple parts), but if you followed along on Facebook or Instagram, you have a pretty good idea of what I saw. Anything else would be my thoughts, which, while priceless, will take some time to gather.

For now, we’ll go back to the We-Wu format to tell you all of the fun and amazing things I did this week.

I read a lot of email.

It turns out that when you’re gone for three weeks, you have a lot of things to catch up on. Some of it is quite easy, as it has come and gone while I was away. But some of it was quite important, so I had to get my brain re-attached and remember what had been agreed to before I left. Or just make something up.

It didn’t help that I wasn’t feeling well earlier in the week. I went off some medication while I was on vacation and then started taking it again, and my body protested. Harshly.

But the show (or work week) must go on, so I dragged myself in, figured out where I left off with Hausa, and started that up again. (Why did we make this 112 pages? Seriously. It’s excessive.)

I also spent some time catching up with my new old boss. Yes, I have a new boss, but I still have my previous boss, and my new boss used to be my old boss. And if you followed that, your Prevagen is working. (If I’ve already talked about this, clearly mine isn’t.)

So, a few years ago, OMS did a little bit of breaking up the band. It was for a good reason at the time, but I don’t think everyone was quite aware of just how much the band actually did. How many fingers were in all of the bakery’s pies.

Well, we’re getting the band back together. Sort of. Maybe forming a new band. Or a duo.

Whatever. Mike is now in charge of operations support. And I’m in operations. Hence, new boss. But he was also my boss in the old band, to continue the metaphor. But we have to bring him up to speed on what the drummer has been doing since the tour ended.

I’m just going to stop now.

Speaking of completely pointless exercises, I figured out a new seating chart for the office. No one asked me to. It will never be implemented. But Sarah and I were curious. If you seat us alphabetically, either by first name or last name, we would be too far away from each other. I kind of want to ask about everyone’s middle names, but that’s probably too invasive for something that has no bearing on our lives at all.

Anyway, I’ll be sharing more on the road trip as soon as I can. I want to compile everyone’s photos and take a glance through my journal. So, you know, you’ll see it in three or four months.

I missed you all, and I hope you at least thought about me while I was away. I hope you have a great weekend. I’m gonna go Bananas.

How’s the small stuff doing?
