The We-Wu for September 22-26, 2025

I’m torn.

Sarah has been gone all week, off in Mexico doing mission things.

For at least two days this week, I was the only one in my hallway. It was quiet, and I got a lot done.

But I’m torn because I don’t know if Sarah should be gone more often or if she should never leave again.

On the one hand, it was quiet and I got a lot done.

On the other hand, it was quiet and no one was around to distract me.

You see the problem?

(I briefly went down the rabbit hole of “It’s quiet. Too quiet.” John Wayne apparently said it first in the 1934 film The Lucky Texan. Then I started looking up other John Wayne lines. Then I started looking up John Wayne himself. It’s weird, I don’t know if I’ve ever actually seen a whole John Wayne film, but I’ve known about him pretty much my entire life. Maybe I did when I was younger - my mom likes John Wayne. I used to get him mixed up with Johnny Cash. See, Sarah isn’t here to interrupt my side quests! I’m learning more, but is any of it relevant?!)

Anyway.

I was all about Phase 2 this week. I’ll thank you to revisit last week’s post for an explanation of what that is. I made a significant amount of progress on one document, and I’m desperately trying to ignore the fact that there are several more documents I haven’t even touched.

I also had a few meetings this week and hosted chapel online. We’re working on bringing a new person into the team to help with project management. She’ll be in Greenwood next week, so that will take up a couple of days for me.

(Speaking of next week, I’ll be gone on Friday, so there likely won’t be a post. Do try to contain your sorrow.)

Coincidentally, another thing Sarah is good for is reminding me what happened during the week. I’m positive I’m forgetting all kinds of interesting things, but I really can’t remember any right now. I know for a fact that I went down many a rabbit hole, but I’ve already deleted my search history, so I couldn’t tell you what they were.

(Don’t read into that. I clear the cache and delete my search history at the end of every week. It’s just good practice.)

So, I think that’s it for now. No profundity this time. Just keep an eye on your small stuff. Get a PSL this weekend if that’s your jam.

Bye!
